Supermarket sales up 1.92% nationwide

Sales in supermarkets across the country increased 1.92% from January to September over the same period of 2017. This is the balance sheet released today (30), in São Paulo, by the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Abras). The president of the entity, João Sanzovo Neto, said, however, that the movement is below expectations, taking into account the estimate to close the year with a rise of 2.53%.
The price of the basic basket of products surveyed increased by 0.39%, from R $ 458.53 to R $ 460.29. The highest elevations hit the rice, frozen chicken, cheese plate and creamy margarine. Already the biggest casualties affected the prices of onion, soap powder, manioc flour and potato.
