Treasury Direct sales total R $ 1.18 billion in July
The government informed on Friday (24) that the issuance of public bonds, through Treasury Direct, totaled R $ 1.189 billion in July. At the same time, redemptions amounted to R $ 915 million. As a result, there was a net issuance (above the volume of redemptions) of R $ 274 million last month. Treasury Direct is a program created in January 2002 that allows individuals to purchase government bonds through the internet. When there is tension in the markets, as now, the interest paid by the Brazilian government on government bonds goes up. In this way, the buyers have a better remuneration.
According to the National Treasury, 107,600 new investors enrolled in the program in July. As a result, the total number of investors registered at the end of the month reached 2,397,549, an increase of 55.7% in the last twelve months.
"The number of active investors reached 636,107, a 22.2% change in the last twelve months, with 16,749 new active investors."
With the net issuance of Treasury Bonds in July, the total balance of securities in the market reached R $ 49.6 billion last month, a rise of 1.6% in relation to June (R $ 48.8 billion).
"Price-indexed securities account for the largest stock volume, reaching 60.7%, followed by Selic-indexed securities, with a 24.8% share and, finally, fixed-rate securities with 14 , 6%. ", Reported the National Treasury.
