Delinquency of micro and small businesses hits new record in June, says Serasa

The number of micro and small enterprises (MPEs) with arrears in Brazil reached 5,174 million in June, a growth of 1% compared to May, when 5,122 million legal entities of the same size were in arrears, according to the second (13) to Serasa Experian. This is a new historical record, surpassing the previous high registered in May. In comparison with June 2017 (4,727 million), the increase reaches 9.5%.
According to Serasa Experian economists, the increase in delinquency reflects "the slow recovery of growth in the Brazilian economy, the difficulty in generating cash from small companies and the increase in the cost of raw materials."
Among the sectors, service companies accounted for 46.5% of total delinquents. Following are the negative trade CNPJs (44.5%) and industry (8.6%). Most of the micro and small companies with backlogs are still concentrated in the Southeast (54.3%). Northeast (16.1%), South (15.8%), Central West (8.7%) and North (5.2%) repeated in June the sequence already determined by the previous survey.

Brazilian industries receive more, but pay less to employees, says CNI
